Maersk set to integrate APM Terminals Inland Services division

The Denmark-based conglomerate company, Maersk, has confirmed it will integrate APM Terminals’ Inland Services division into Maersk’s Logistics and Services division from the beginning of August, according to Supply Chain Dive.

Inland Services provides services for shipping line and landside customers, such as container equipment maintenance, transportation, warehousing as well as temperature-controlled storage.

According to Maersk, the shift will enable APM Terminals to “fully focus on becoming a world-class port operator.”

With a plan to become a one-stop-shop for its shipper customers, Maersk has undergone restructuring of its business and integrated a number of different parts. In 2016, Maersk made the promise of restructuring its business and in September 2018 delivered on that promise when Maersk Line and Damco merged.

In a press release, Søren Toft, executive vice president and chief operating officer at Maersk, said: “It puts Maersk in an even better position to differentiate its offering.”
